About Patna Half Marathon
The historic city of Patna held its first Half Marathon on 17th December 2017. More than 4000 participants registered and ran for the event that was flagged off at 6:00am. Some important highlights of the event are given below:

– Half Marathon is a 21.1km out and back loop starting from Gandhi Maidan Gate 1 and passing through Dak Bungalow, Income Tax roundabout, Bailey Road, Eco Park, Governor’s House, Raja Bazaar Flyover, and looping back the same way to end at Gandhi Maidan Gate 1.
– 10K Run route is a 10km out and back loop starting from Gandhi Maidan Gate 1 and passing through Dak Bungalow, Income Tax roundabout, Bailey Road, Eco Park, and looping back the same way to end at Gandhi Maidan Gate 1.
– Fun Run/Walk (4km run)is a 4km out and back loop starting from Gandhi Maidan Gate 1 and passing through Dak Bungalow, Income Tax roundabout, and looping back the same way to end at Gandhi Maidan Gate 1.
Flag Off by dignitaries
The legendary Indian wrestler Geeta Phogat on whom the movie “Dangal”was based was the chief guest and flagged off the race.
Eminent personalities like Hon’ble Road and Construction Minister of Bihar (Shri Nand Kishore Yadav), Hon’ble Irrigation Minister of Bihar (Shri Rajuv Ranjan Singh), the Commissioner of Patna Division (Shri Robert L Chongthu) and the District Magistrate of Patna (Shri Kumar Ravi) were also present along with Ms. Geeta Phogat to flag off the event.

The race was telecast live by News 18 Bihar/Jharkhand and covered extensively by the entire media.
Other Notables
– Many Transgenders ran the Patna Marathon to voice their cause of recognition in our society.
– Women runners came out in large number for the run that had the theme of ‘Run for Bihar’.
– Total prize money of Rs. 10 Lakhs was distributed across various race category winners.
EXPO/RUNNERS' EXPERIENCE

- Registered participants attended the Patna Half Marathon Expo on 14th-15th December 2018.

- Patna Half Marathon 2018 Expo Venue was Gandhi Maidan. Registered participants entered from Gate 10 to collect their goodies.

- Each Participant was given a Bag, Patna Half Marathon T-Shirt, and a Running Bib. The running Bib for timed runners of 21.1km and 10km categories had RFID chips in it.

- Race Day had warm ups with Zumba dances and de-stressing arrangements with DJ music, dancing and entertainment.

- Route had multiple entertainment zones to encourage the runners like police bands, skits on stages promoting social causes, musical entertainment areas.

- Adequate water drinking stations was present throughout the route. Visible route signages and on route volunteers provided assistance.

- Medical facilities on the venue and dispersed on the route with doctors and physios were on standby to help anyone in need.
- Attractive Finisher’s medals were given to all the finishers in all the race categories who finished the race.
